DOC'S PERSPECTIVE
MONTHLY BLOG
WORLDVIEWS impact persons who are seeking Counseling, or currently going to Counseling. A good Counselor will always explore these WORLDVIEWS in the Counseling setting. We cannot help someone, unless first we find out basic information on what their perspective of WORLDVIEWS are.
What we believe about GOD is our THEOLOGY...... This includes whether or not we believe God exists, & what the divine being is like to us, & how God influences or daily lives. What we believe about the UNIVERSE........ How did it come into existence? What we know about Natural/Spiritual Laws? Is there any thing such as Divine Interventions? How do we gain WISDOM/KNOWLEDGE...... Can we trust our senses, intuition, truth? What the difference between Subjective/Objective Truth? How do we know that we are getting accurate information, whats the Balance Scale of Information? What do we believe about HUMAN BEINGS...... What is are perspective on Creation? What do we believe of Free Choice/Will? What about Life after Death? Do we have limited or unlimited Potential? How do we determine RIGHT from WRONG------ What is are views on Ethics of Morality? How do we feel about Un-Justice? How do we react to world views? Do we have a a victim mentality? Do we have the right to take revenge on others? All of these Questions, help Counselors to position themselves to help others. As Counselors we have to build Bridges to help others cross into Recovery. If we do not explore, where they are, we cannot lead them to places they need to be. A good, qualified Counselor, walks with the Counselee, side by side through their Healing & Recovery process. In this first Blog, I wanted to Share with you, about Counseling via Confidential Video Computer or Telephone Conference. To help you understand how this can be helpful to you.
If are are considering Counseling, please read this, and be informed how this can help you, Researchers have begun observing a growing trend in which licensed psychotherapists are now seeing at their clients via the telephone. A body of research exists comparing the efficacy of telephone counseling to in-person counseling and to no treatment. A recent study found that more clients who had experienced both in-person and phone counseling preferred phone counseling. A 2002 study found that phone counseling clients rate their counseling relationship similarly to in-person clients. Phone Counseling has been established and proven to be a effective treatment for clients. Unlike other forms of Counseling, Telephone Counseling is potentially free of certain constraining factors that affect traditional therapy, including geography, time, duration, and cost, making this form of counseling more accessible for a number of people who would be unable to attend traditional psychotherapy. It also provides a degree of anonymity that is comforting to some callers, reducing the intimidation that some people may feel at the prospect of seeking treatment with a traditional in-person therapist and encouraging disclosure. Also research shows telephone counseling to have better results among patients with depression. Online and phone counseling services are a convenient approach to providing effective mental health services through email, via telephone and video webcam. Online counseling, as ‘talk therapy,’ is a thoughtful, informative, often insightful and educational dialogue between you and an experienced, professional internet therapist. Online therapy and telephone counseling is very private, and confidential, providing you with counseling and therapeutic services outside your own community and, at the same time, in the comfort and privacy of your own home, or a location of your choosing. Phone Counseling Services are effective, confidential, convenient and affordable. Whether you are seeking relationship advice, marriage counseling or help for depression, anxiety, panic, grief, anger, stress or trauma, online therapy and internet counseling via email, live-chat, telephone counseling or webcam conferencing provides you with support, insight, feedback, guidance, education and encouragement in a private, comfortable setting. |
